Takes the guesswork out of a roast. Rather than making you remember what temperature pork should reach, it has the USDA safe temperatures preset for beef, veal, lamb, pork, poultry and fish, with rare through well done on the red meats. Pick the meat, pick the doneness, push the probe into the thickest part and wait for the alarm. There is an open setting too if you cook to your own numbers. Polder have been making these in the US since 1976.
