The problem with an ice tray is everything either side of the freezing. Filling it without slopping water across the shelf, finding a flat spot for it, then cracking cubes out with your fingers and putting them in someone's drink. This solves all three. It fills like a bottle through the top, seals watertight so it can go into the freezer on its side, upside down or wedged between things, and when the ice is set you push and twist to break the cubes free and pour them straight into a glass. Your hands never touch the ice. It holds the cubes afterwards too, so it works as an ice bucket for a picnic or a cooling block in an esky.
