Falcon have been making enamelware in Britain since the 1920s, and the white body with a coloured rim is one of those designs that never needed changing. It is porcelain fused onto heavy gauge steel, which is why it will not burn, will not stain and will not shatter if you drop it. Oven safe to 270C and happy on a gas or electric hob, so it can go from the heat to the table without a second dish.
If a piece chips, the steel underneath oxidises naturally and it stays perfectly safe to use. Falcon reckon it gains a bit of character.
