Sourced from Uji, Kyoto — the region that's been growing tea for over 800 years and is widely considered Japan's most prestigious matcha-producing area. The leaves are shade-grown for several weeks before harvest to concentrate chlorophyll and amino acids, hand-picked at peak freshness, and stone-milled into a fine vibrant green powder. The result is a clean, slightly sweet, vegetal flavour with the natural caffeine boost and L-theanine that gives matcha its signature calm focus.
This is Hello Matcha's entry-level matcha, designed for daily use rather than traditional ceremony. For straight-whisked usucha or thicker koicha preparations, step up to the Ceremonial grade. For everything else: lattes, smoothies, baking, dessert work, and recipe applications, Premium is the right choice.
How to use
- For a matcha latte: Sift 2-3g of matcha into a bowl, whisk with 30ml of 80°C water until smooth, then top with 150-200ml of warm milk
- Sweeten with honey, sugar, or a syrup if preferred
- For baking and recipes: substitute or add to the recipe as directed
