Plumm is the wine glass built by people who make wine. Where most glassware brands engineer a different glass for every grape, Plumm works the other way — most wines fall into a handful of styles, so Plumm crafts a glass for each style instead of each varietal. The result is a small, deliberate range in lead-free European crystal: seamless, balanced, and made to change how a wine tastes rather than just hold it.

EU's Take

Why we back Plumm

We've sold Plumm since 2017, and the reason is simple: it removes the intimidation from good glassware. A customer doesn't need a cabinet of varietal-specific stems — they need three or four glasses that genuinely make the wine taste better, won't snap at the stem, and go in the dishwasher. Plumm delivers crystal that performs like the European names at a fraction of the ceremony, which is exactly the kind of considered, no-nonsense quality we like putting on the shelf. Start with Plumm Three. If you only ever own one set of wine glasses, own that.

A wine company that made a glass

Plumm grew out of a Melbourne family's life in wine — three generations of importing, making and selling it. Spending that long around great bottles teaches you something most glassmakers learn second-hand: the shape of the glass changes the wine. Drinking a serious wine from the wrong vessel is like watching a film on a phone instead of the big screen. So the family set out to build the right one. They spent eighteen months asking the winemakers they worked with a single question — which glass best expresses your wine — and found the answer wasn't hundreds of shapes but a handful, one per wine style. They named it Plumm, after the word so often reached for to describe a wine's aroma and character. Every glass since, hand or machine made, is blown from a single piece of lead-free European crystal with a pulled stem: seamless, durable, and quietly elegant on the table.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Plumm glasses dishwasher safe?

Yes — all machine-made crystal and the polycarbonate Outdoors range are dishwasher friendly. The mouth-blown Handmade Vintage glasses and decanters are best washed by hand given their size and weight.

Where are Plumm glasses made?

The crystal is made in Europe from lead-free crystal using long-established glassmaking traditions; the Outdoors polycarbonate range is made in China. All of it is designed in Melbourne.

What makes a pulled stem better?

The bowl and stem are drawn from one piece of crystal rather than joined, so there's no weld point to fail — tested stronger than pressed-stem glasses, without the weight.

Do I really not need a different glass for every wine?

That's the whole idea. Plumm builds for wine style, not grape variety, so a few well-chosen glasses cover everything from sparkling to full-bodied red.

Is Plumm crystal lead-free?

Yes — every Plumm crystal glass is lead-free, cadmium-free and fully recyclable.
