EU's Take

Why we back Mondo

Buy the Pro tins once.

We have been selling Mondo since 2011, which is long enough to know what comes back and what doesn't. The anodised Pro pans hold their shape. Straight sides stay straight, the surface has nothing to strip in a commercial dishwasher, and we have customers still running tins they bought from us over a decade ago.

That is what the 25 year guarantee is really telling you. Mondo is not being generous, they are being confident.

The boards and boxes are where the volume is, and they are honest product at a fair price. The tins are where the argument is worth having.

From an agency in Perth

The business behind Mondo began in 1978 as a small kitchenware agency in Perth, run by a family whose surname happens to be Bakers. Two generations on, the same family is still running it.

Mondo came out of a straightforward observation: professional decorators were importing serious equipment while home bakers made do with whatever the supermarket stocked, and there was no reason the same tin could not serve both. The Pro line was specified to commercial standard and priced for a domestic customer.

It worked well enough that Mondo now sells beyond Australia into Canada and the United Kingdom, and is stocked across most of the Australian baking trade.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does anodised actually mean?

The aluminium surface is electrochemically hardened and sealed rather than painted or coated. There is no layer to chip or flake, and the tin will not react with acidic batters.
