LorAnn Oils has been making concentrated flavour in Michigan since 1962, when a pharmacist named a company after his wife Laura and daughter Ann and began bottling essential oils for the local drug trade. The Super Strength flavours are three to four times the strength of a supermarket extract, so a recipe calling for a teaspoon needs only a quarter of one, and they hold up in hard candy where ordinary extracts fail. The Bakery Emulsions are water based rather than alcohol based, which means the flavour survives the oven instead of baking off. Nearly everything in the range is kosher certified and gluten free. One note worth knowing: the Super Strength oils are made for candy and baking, not for chocolate.
