The 20x15cm Kitchen Series board is the one you reach for when getting a big board out is not worth it: a lemon, a few cloves of garlic, a handful of herbs, or a wedge of cheese carried to the table. The Kitchen Series is the original Epicurean board: a simple, thin, dual-sided shape with a hang hole. Slate is a deep charcoal grey that sits well in darker kitchens and against bright produce.
Why it works
- Thin and light at 0.6cm, so it is easy to lift, tip ingredients from and store
- Dual-sided: keep one face for raw meat and the other for everything else
- Hang hole for storing it on a hook, off the bench
- Small enough to live on the bench or in the drawer
- Paper composite made in the USA: layers of FSC certified paper fused with resin under heat and pressure into one dense, solid sheet
- Kind to your knives: light score marks over time are the surface taking the wear instead of your edge
- Dishwasher safe and maintenance free, with no oiling needed to keep it in service
- Heat resistant to 176°C, so it doubles as a trivet for a hot pan straight off the stove
Care
Wash by hand in warm soapy water or put it through the dishwasher. Dry and store it standing on its side, not flat, so it keeps its shape. No oiling is needed; Epicurean Board Butter is there if you want a deeper, richer finish.
